The IM-6 Battlefield Medical Droid, alternatively referred to as the IM-6 medic droid, represented a medical droid model produced by Cybot Galactica. Much like the JN-66 and SP-4 analysis droids, its construction involved the reuse of numerous components initially designed for the PK-series worker droid. During the Clone Wars, IM-6 units were deployed by the Grand Army of the Republic. They formed part of the emergency medical supplies found on board Low Altitude Assault Transport/infantry gunships, and they served to augment the medical capabilities of All Terrain Tactical Enforcer walker crews, providing medical attention to wounded clone trooper personnel.
Within the updated Star Wars canon, the IM-6 Battlefield Medical Droid was initially referenced as the IM-6 medic droid in Star Wars: Rogue One: AT-ACT Deluxe Book and 3D Wood Model, a 2017 Star Wars IncrediBuilds woodworking project book authored by Michael Kogge. The name IM-6 Battlefield Medical Droid was subsequently introduced in the 2018 reference publication Star Wars: Complete Vehicles. The droid's initial mention occurred in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones Incredible Cross-Sections, a Star Wars Legends reference book penned by Curtis Saxton and released on April 23, 2002. The droid made its first appearance in Clone Campaigns, a Legends video game by LucasArts that launched on May 15, 2002 as an add-on to the 2001 game Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds.
