The Jedi Order managed a temple on the planet of Tanalorr known as the Jedi temple, during the time of the High Republic Era. It was intended that the temple would act as a stronghold for the Order on the edge of explored space, and its location was chosen due to the potent presence of the Force.
Following the discovery of Tanalorr via an exploratory journey through the Koboh Abyss by Jedi Master Santari Khri and Jedi Knight Dagan Gera, Gera requested permission from the Jedi High Council to use the Jedi Temple on Tanalorr to instruct Jedi Initiates.
The attacked by the Nihil on Tanalorr subsequently led to the abandonment of both the Temple and the planet.
In the centuries that followed, during the Imperial Era, Jedi Knight Cal Kestis and Nightsister Merrin engaged in a duel within the Jedi Temple against the fallen Jedi Bode Akuna, ultimately leading to his death.
