Jober Tavson, a male human, achieved the Lieutenant rank and functioned as the pilot of the Upsilon-class command shuttle belonging to Kylo Ren, who was the Supreme Leader of the First Order.
During 34 ABY, of the year, holding the military rank of Lieutenant, he flew the shuttle above the First Order forces. These forces were advancing across the salt flats of the planet Crait, heading towards the remaining members of the Resistance who had sought shelter in an old Rebel outpost. After the First Order arrived at the outpost, Ren oversaw his forces during the Battle of Crait, while positioned near Tavson. When Luke Skywalker, a Jedi Master, appeared from the outpost and withstood a full assault from the First Order's arsenal, the Supreme Leader told the shuttle to land so that he could face the Jedi alone. General Armitage Hux initially disagreed, but after Ren used the Force to throw Hux into a wall, Tavson swiftly followed the order. It was eventually revealed that Skywalker was only projecting an image of himself onto Crait through the Force, and while Ren was preoccupied with this projection, the surviving Resistance members managed to escape.
Jober Tavson's initial appearance was in the film Star Wars: Episode VIII The Last Jedi, which was launched on December 15, 2017. Though not named in the movie, the character was identified in Star Wars: The Last Jedi: The Visual Dictionary, a companion reference book written by Pablo Hidalgo and released alongside the film.
