Despite her training as a Consular Jedi, which emphasized scholarship over combat, Jocasta Nu made it a point to possess her lightsaber, even if merely as a symbol of her authority. While working within the Archives, she typically kept the lightsaber concealed beneath her robes, ensuring it remained discreet.
On one occasion, the Clawdite bounty hunter Cato Parasitti stole the lightsaber after impersonating Jocasta. Parasitti then wielded it against Ahsoka Tano after the Togruta discovered her deception. However, the Padawan proved superior, swiftly defeating and capturing Parasitti.

Following her survival of Order 66 and while in exile, Jocasta continued to carry her blue-bladed lightsaber as she sought to rebuild the Jedi Order. Upon witnessing the Grand Inquisitor mistreating her cherished books, she used it to threaten him and engage in a brief duel. Although she was defeated, Darth Vader intervened and spared her life, as the Emperor desired her alive. Jocasta managed to escape both of them, retreating to a concealed chamber where she retrieved a lightsaber rifle and utilized her own lightsaber to power it. After firing five shots, the hilt of her lightsaber was rendered unusable due to melting. Ultimately, it was completely destroyed when she activated the rifle's self-destruct mechanism in a desperate attempt to eliminate Vader.
