Kado Oquoné was a male human who held the rank of captain within the Alliance to Restore the Republic throughout the Galactic Civil War. During the Battle of Scarif, Oquoné was the commanding officer of the Lightmaker, a _Sphyrna_-class Hammerhead corvette.
Following damage sustained by his vessel, he maneuvered it away from the main engagement to safeguard the designated escape route. As the battle neared its conclusion, Admiral Raddus instructed Oquoné to deliberately collide his corvette with the crippled Star Destroyer Persecutor, thereby causing it to crash into another Star Destroyer, the Intimidator, and subsequently into the Shield Gate protecting Scarif. This maneuver effectively deactivated the Shield Gate, enabling the Rebels stationed on Scarif to transmit the Death Star plans to Raddus. The Lightmaker, along with its reduced complement of crew members, was obliterated in the resulting impact. Oquoné's heroic sacrifice led to the Rebels acquiring the Death Star plans, which were subsequently utilized to identify a vulnerability in the battle station, ultimately leading to its destruction during the Battle of Yavin.
The character of Kado Oquoné was played by the British actor Angus Wright in the film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
