Katarr

Katarr, the point of origin for the sentient Reeman species, was an astronomical body. Lourna Dee, the imprisoned former Tempest Runner of the Nihil marauders, during the attack perpetrated by Pan Eyta on the prison ship Restitution in 231 BBY, recognized one of the attackers as a Reeman hailing from Katarr, due to a prior working relationship. Additionally, Katarr lent its name to the Katarr adumbrature, a text which Jedi Padawan Qui-Gon Jinn assisted Jedi Master and seer Oorallon in studying around 58 BBY.

Behind the scenes

The name of the Katarr adumbrature in the audio drama Dooku: Jedi Lost, authored by Cavan Scott and released on April 30, 2019, marked the initial mention of Katarr within the new Star Wars canon. The script release of the audio drama, which occurred on October 1 of that year, confirmed the spelling of the name, and Katarr's status as a location was verified in the 2021 audio drama The High Republic: Tempest Runner, also penned by Scott as a component of Phase I of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project.
