KB-68

KB-68, also known as Kaybee Sixty-Eight, was a Duelist Elite droid with feminine programming; she belonged to a male individual on Mircapala. This individual programmed her for defense against an attacker that never materialized. Eventually, KB-68's master died, and she remained as a guard over his corpse for a number of years until Komat, a former member of the Acolytes of the Beyond, discovered her and promised her a new place to live. KB-68 went with Komat to the planet Polaar, where Komat was living in exile. During their time spent on Polaar, Komat farmed the planet's distronic radiation; KB-68 then transported it to a market moon within the Pirsen system to trade for needed goods.

In the year 21 ABY, Lando Calrissian and Luke Skywalker journeyed to Polaar to discuss tracking a starship named Goldstone with Komat. When they got to Komat homestead, KB-68 stopped what she was doing to sneak up on them, surprising them by defensively drawing her dead blade. After Komat came to greet Skywalker, she instructed KB-68 to return to her duties. Sometime later, KB-68 served hot chocolate to Komat, Skywalker, and Calrissian as they conversed inside Komat's residence. Some hours later, [kyber crystal](/article/kyber_crystal] enhanced battle droids dispatched by the Pantoran female Kiza to recover kyber crystals that Skywalker had found, and during the skirmish KB-68 destroyed some of the droids.

Following the skirmish, KB-68 went with Calrissian and Komat to the planet Taw Provode in search of a family fleeing from the Sith. KB-68 stood guard over Komat's starfighter, Warglaive, while the two were able to help the family to escape the Imperial fuel dump. Subsequently, KB-68 disabled a TIE Defender being piloted by the spirit of the Sith Lord Viceroy Exim Panshard, causing it to crash on Taw Provode's solitary moon. The group then traveled to the moon, where KB-68 gave Komat her lightsaber so that she and Skywalker could duel the Sith Lord, although KB-68 stayed back. After the duel concluded, KB-68 assisted Komat in standing up.

Later, after they had buried two members of the family they were looking for on Neftali, KB-68 piloted Komat and Calrissian back to Polaar. After a weeks rest, Calrissian assisted Komat and KB-68 in harvesting plates from a particle array.
