Kimb, a bartender of non-binary identity, served drinks at the Sublight Lounge aboard the Halcyon, a MPO-1400 Purgill-class star cruiser owned by Chandrila Star Line. During 4 ABY, while Han Solo, a general from the Rebel Alliance, was honeymooning on the vessel, Kimb prepared a drink for him. Noticing Solo's boredom with the low-stakes holo-sabacc games in the lounge, Kimb suggested he seek out Lyx, a bridge officer, in the Engineering Room, where a sabacc game with credit stakes was in progress. Solo subsequently encountered Lyx in the room, who expressed irritation that Kimb had directed him there.

Employed by Chandrila Star Line during the Imperial Era, Kimb, a non-binary bartender, was stationed on the MPO-1400 Purgill-class star cruiser known as the Halcyon. They developed a familiarity with Lyx, a bridge officer who also worked on the vessel and frequently participated in sabacc games held in the Engineering Room. In 4 ABY, while working at the Sublight Lounge, Kimb approached Han Solo, a general from the Rebel Alliance, who was honeymooning with his wife, Princess Leia Organa, on the Halcyon. Kimb offered to concoct a drink for him. When Solo gave them free rein, the bartender quickly combined various ingredients in a shaker and presented the finished cocktail to the general. Kimb was happy that Solo enjoyed the drink, and smiled knowingly at him. Solo took his drink to a table to participate in holo-sabacc with other guests of the Halcyon, but soon felt the games lacked excitement due to the absence of real stakes.
Later, Solo tipped Kimb as a gesture of appreciation for the beverage when returning his glass, which Kimb passed on to a server. Having observed Solo's disappointment with the holo-sabacc games, the bartender paused to consider him before suggesting he visit Lyx in the Engineering Room. Intrigued, the general went to the room and discovered Lyx hosting a sabacc game with credit [stakes](/article/gambling], just as Kimb had implied. Lyx, upon learning that Kimb had sent Solo, inquired about his identity with annoyance. As he prepared to join the next round of cards, Solo briefly reflected on the bartender's suggestion about where the bridge officer worked.
Kimb styled their hair in the Ming Po style, characterized by braids. They were approachable and friendly towards patrons of the Sublight Lounge, and appreciated when their customers enjoyed their drink creations. Kimb possessed keen observation skills, noticing Solo's dissatisfaction with the lounge's holo-sabacc games. Despite Solo being a guest on the Halcyon and knowing that the bridge officer might be displeased, the bartender was willing to inform him about Lyx's private games.
While working aboard the Halcyon, Kimb had access to the bar's extensive liquor collection, which they utilized to prepare drinks using bottles and shakers.
Kimb made an appearance in The Princess and the Scoundrel, a novel published in 2022 by Beth Revis. Revis confirmed on Twitter that the novel's use of "they/them" pronouns for the character indicated their non-binary identity.
