Klemral was a Human male studying at the Sith Academy located on Korriban. This occurred during the Cold War era, a time of conflict between the Galactic Republic and the re-established Sith Empire.
Klemral was not only physically weak, but also perceived as a coward and lacked the natural aptitude of a Sith. Along with his fellow acolytes, Darth Baras tasked Klemral with the retrieval of shards from the Tomb of Tulak Hord. However, this assignment was intentionally perilous, with failure resulting in death at the hands of the Sith Lord as punishment. Klemral anticipated a fatal outcome from this dangerous mission given to them by Baras. During the assignment, Klemral attempted to enter the tomb, but was overwhelmed by the numerous shyracks. As the other acolytes were killed, Klemral fled the tomb, fearing the repercussions from Baras.
When a Sith Warrior arrived back at the academy to give Baras the shards, Klemral devised a plan to ambush the acolyte and seize the shards, hoping to avoid death. He, along with two other acolytes, confronted the Sith Warrior in a duel, only to be defeated. After the other Sith Acolytes were killed, Klemral apologized, acknowledging his grave error in challenging the Sith Warrior. He pleaded for his life, explaining his inability to penetrate the tomb. Realizing the futility of the mission, Klemral understood that joining the Sith was a mistake. The Sith Warrior chose to end his life rather than allow him to continue living.
The Sith Warrior is presented with three choices: to kill Klemral, to spare him, or to assist him. Embracing the dark side, the Sith Warrior would simply execute him. If the Warrior chooses to spare his life, one of the light-side options, Klemral expresses his gratitude and resolves to join a mad hermit within the tombs, becoming one of his followers. In the alternative light-side option, the Warrior would relinquish the shards obtained from the tomb to Klemral and return to acquire more shards, while Klemral would still have to face Baras. However, Baras discerns the deception, and because the Warrior aided him, they are asked to decide his fate again. If the Warrior chooses to spare his life a second time, Baras would order him to serve under Jailer Knash in the academy prison. While the Warrior frees their companion Vette from prison, to assist them in the final trial in the Tomb of Naga Sadow, they learn that Klemral never reported for his new assignment. Deep within the tomb, as the Warrior is about to be ambushed by Vemrin, Klemral appears, warning them and leaping in front of the merciful Warrior. Vemrin reminds Klemral of his weakness, and demonstrates it by swiftly killing him with a strike from his warblade.
If the warrior decides Klemral is to die, Darth Baras would use Force Lightning against him, killing him instantly.
