Tomb of Naga Sadow

The Tomb of Naga Sadow, a Sith burial structure, was commissioned by the Sith Lord Tulak Hord within the Valley of the Dark Lords located on the planet of Korriban. Intended as the final resting place for the then-Dark Lord of the Sith, Naga Sadow, centuries later, the Great Hyperspace War resulted in the Sith Empire's downfall, and Sadow ultimately died on the moon Yavin 4. Despite this, the edifice continued to be recognized as the Tomb of Naga Sadow.

History

Although Naga Sadow never actually occupied the tomb constructed for him in the Valley of the Dark Lords, instead spending his remaining years exiled on Yavin 4, it still stood. An ancient Rakatan Star Map, dating back to the Infinite Empire's conquest of Korriban, was housed within its walls. During the era of the Jedi Civil War, the nearby Sith Academy utilized the tomb as the ultimate proving ground for their aspiring Sith students.

Kallig releasing Khem Val

Revan ventured into this tomb on two separate occasions. The first was during his quest to locate the Star Forge. On his second visit, after the Galactic Republic had wiped his mind, he confronted and eliminated [Uthar Wynn](/article/uthar_wynn], the leader of the Sith Academy, and successfully redeemed Yuthura Ban, Wynn's Sith apprentice. In 3951 BBY, the Jedi Exile Meetra Surik attempted to gain entry to the tomb, but a rockfall had blocked the entrance, preventing her from doing so. The tomb's inhabitants included two terentateks, a number of wraids, and the remains of Shaela Nuur.

Furthermore, Revan discovered several artifacts within the tomb, notably Sadow's poisoned sword, a grenade capable of generating both fire and ice, and a ceremonial Sith lightsaber. This lightsaber was a required find for Revan, as part of his final trial.

Ancient droid guardian

During the Great Galactic War, the Sith reclaimed Korriban, and by the time of the Cold War, both Imperials and Sith were flourishing within the valley. The tomb's defenses included several ancient droids. Many aspiring Sith acolytes were dispatched to the tomb to fulfill various tasks assigned by their overseers. Overseer Harkun sent a promising acolyte to the tomb in order to recover an ancient map for Lord Zash. However, the acolyte was first required to release Khem Val, a notorious Dashade and ancient servant of Tulak Hord, who was imprisoned within the tomb. This was achieved by collecting ancient rods. Upon being freed, after the acolyte had eliminated numerous rival acolytes, Khem Val, enraged by the news of Tulak Hord's death centuries prior, attacked the acolyte. After being defeated, the Dashade pledged his service to the young Sith. They then retrieved the map, but first had to overcome an ancient guardian beast, a Terentatek Mauler. Subsequently, Lord Baras dispatched a promising warrior to the tomb with the mission of retrieving an ancient lightsaber. With the aid of a Twi'lek prisoner, the warrior uncovered a secret chamber within the tomb, destroyed Naga Sadow's ancient droid guardians, and claimed the lightsaber from his "grave."

Behind the scenes

A software bug can occur within the terentatek room. If the player activates the lever and enters the room containing the fire and ice grenades before defeating the terentateks, the terentateks will be unable to follow them. This allows the player to attack the terentateks without fear of retaliation.

Monuments constructed in the Rakatan style can be observed in several of the tomb's chambers, such as the obelisk erected as a monument to Naga Sadow and the stones that housed the special grenades.

This tomb is also featured in Star Wars: The Old Republic, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game (MMORPG) developed by BioWare and released on December 20, 2011.
