Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 16: Nights of Anger, Part 1 represents the sixteenth installment within the comic book series, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.
A completely new story arc is initiated, presenting a compelling narrative centered around authority, bias, and a history that cannot be escaped!
When Camper, the elderly and somewhat confused proprietor of The Last Resort, becomes seriously sick, his young guardian Jarael will risk everything in an attempt to save him. This includes seeking a remedy on Arkania, a world she has never experienced, where genetic "deviations" like herself and Camper are scorned and even deemed illegal. However, once on Arkania, Jarael's problems go far beyond simple prejudice, because if her true motives are discovered, powerful entities that have been pursuing Camper for many years will do anything to reclaim the elderly refugee—and the dangerous secret that he holds within!
Raana Tey, en route to Taris with the assignment to safeguard Senator Haydel Goravvus on behalf of the Supreme Chancellor, is plagued by disturbing nightmares. One recurring vision forces her to relive the Padawan Massacre from Zayne Carrick's point of view—except in this version, the Padawans are the perpetrators, murdering the Masters. Tey is convinced that eliminating Carrick is the only way to banish these nocturnal horrors. Meanwhile, on The Last Resort, Jarael and Dyre are struggling to improve Camper's worsening condition, prompting Jarael to seek medical assistance on the planet Arkania. Jarael's attempt to access a medical center located in Adascopolis is thwarted by guards. Due to her status as an Arkanian Offshoot, she is forced onto a shuttle headed for the mining camps. On the shuttle, Jarael encounters another Offshoot named Zadawi, who invites Jarael to her home. Zadawi and her grandmother explain the discrimination faced by Offshoots at the hands of "pure" Arkanians. Zadawi aids Jarael in disguising herself as a pure Arkanian so she can infiltrate the city. However, Jarael's presence at the medical center attracts the attention of Arkanian guards. Their conflict is interrupted by the arrival of Lord Arkoh Adasca, who orders his guards to stand down and offers his assistance in curing Camper. Adasca's flagship, the Arkanian Legacy, which serves as the mobile headquarters for Adascorp, docks with The Last Resort, bringing it aboard. However, upon learning of Jarael's collaboration with Adasca, Camper suffers another episode.
