Plot Synopsis

On the Arkanian Legacy—the mobile headquarters of AdascorpCamper is relocated to a quarantined medical center as per Lord Adasca's instructions. Shortly after Camper's collapse, realizing that Jarael was responsible for his presence at Adascorp, the Mandalorian warrior Rohlan Dyre is ambushed by one of Adasca's security personnel. Jarael insists on Rohlan's release, and Adasca assures her that the Mandalorian will remain unharmed as long as he refrains from violence.

Jarael is concerned that Camper may never forgive her for bringing him to the very organization he had been avoiding for years. During a tour of the Arkanian Legacy, Adasca reveals to Jarael that his grandfather, during his tenure as head of the company, employed Camper—a brilliant Offshoot scientist named Gorman Vandrayk. Adasca acknowledges that Camper was mistreated by the company, but emphasizes that much has evolved since then—the Arkanian Legacy has transformed into a multifaceted facility encompassing a medical research center, a university, and an observatory. He also informs Jarael that the old scientist was exposed to a pathogen known as the "Balinquar's Virus" during his time in Adascorp's laboratories.

Simultaneously, the Republic's defensive line at Serroco is faltering, and the Courageous is under siege. Neo-Crusader Shock Troopers have boarded the vessel and are engaged in intense combat with Admiral Karath and Commander Dallan Morvis. At the crucial moment, Lieutenant Carth Onasi intervenes and rescues Karath. Together, they make their way to the cargo bay, their only avenue of escape. Upon reaching the prison cells, they discover Zayne in a state of "meditation". After they communicate their intention to liberate him, he confesses that he had been using the Force to detach the screws from the bulkhead of his cell, creating an opening that leads to the cargo bay and Onasi's ship—the Deadweight.

After Adasca's guards fail to secure Rohlan Dyre's armor, the lord makes the decision to speak with him. He informs the Mandalorian that he recognizes him as "Rohlan the Questioner". Adasca successfully appeases Dyre by granting him access to the ship's research facilities, thereby eliminating another potential source of trouble.

Eejee Vamm gets in touch with Jarael, informing her that Camper will be in recovery for the next several days. This conversation is strategically used to reassure Camper that Jarael is, for the moment, unharmed. Eejee reveals to Camper the true source of his ailment—allergens and molds present in The Last Resort's air filtration system. Adasca brought Camper aboard with the intention of having the scientist complete a project he had initiated before fleeing. Jarael is being held as a hostage to compel Camper to resume the research he abandoned years prior.
