Kronauer was a Warrant Officer in the Galactic Empire's Imperial Army. This human male served as an Imperial officer on the Imperial II-class Star Destroyer Tarkin's Will, the command ship of the Hunter Fleet, during the reign of the Empire. Sometime between 3 ABY and 4 ABY, Kronauer came across Lieutenant Shara Bey, a rebel pilot disguised as a stormtrooper, while she was sending an encrypted transmission from one of the ship's transmission hubs. Questioning Bey's presence in the hub, Kronauer dismissed her explanation of performing routine maintenance, instead accusing her of shirking her duties and sleeping. Bey challenged this accusation, but Kronauer retorted that he didn't need to prove it. He then pointed out the damage to her stormtrooper armor, emphasizing that there was no justification for being untidy. Before leaving, Kronauer instructed Bey to behave like a proper trooper in Galactic Emperor Sheev Palpatine’s army, warning her that he would be watching her closely and that she would regret it if he ever saw her with damaged armor again.
