Lactic acid
Lactic acid was a naturally occurring substance found within the muscles and body tissues of certain species.
History
Not long after the Galactic Empire's establishment, Tech, a member of Clone Force 99, accessed an Aurebesh data readout while aboard the Marauder. This readout indicated that a growth level 1 Zillo Beast had elevated adrenaline levels but lacked lactic acid. Conversely, a growth level 6 Zillo Beast's lactic acid level was recorded as "-0".
During the time of the Galactic Civil War, Beilert Valance, a human bounty hunter, possessed extensive cybernetics. These included synthetic organs designed to filter out lactic acids and poisons from his system, thereby enhancing his endurance. Following the Galactic Empire's collapse, the city of Induchron faced danger from falling debris originating from the Orbital One space station. Yrica Quell, a human X-wing starfighter pilot, experienced bodily aches as she shot down burning debris in her X-wing; each movement caused the release of pain and lactic acid in her muscles.
During the era of the First Order-Resistance War, Lexo Sooger, a Dor Namethian masseur employed at Zord's Spa and Bathhouse in Canto Bight, possessed chemically sensitive receptors in his eyes that enabled him to detect lactic acid within body tissue; a crucial advantage for his profession. While performing a massage on Joris, a Heptooinian, at the spa, Sooger detected tension in her back and identified a spot where the lactic acid concentration was lower than in the rest of her back, indicating that further work was needed.
