The Laser Flits, sometimes written as Laserflits, were a criminal organization that made their base of operations in a bunker on the outskirts of Mos Espa. This city was situated on the Outer Rim planet of Tatooine during the era of the Galactic Civil War. This armed group of teenage individuals was known for causing occasional trouble, and they were easily identifiable by their distinct purple colored attire. Some time after the Battle of Yavin in 0 BBY, the Laser Flits carried out an ambush on a shipment of swoop components. As a result, W. Wald, a Rodian who worked at Watto's Shop, hired a spacefarer to retaliate against the Laser Flits and retrieve the stolen parts for his customer, a Human by the name of Qord D'Baelor.

A relatively new gang began its activities sometime after the Battle of Yavin in 0 BBY, operating from a bunker located on the fringe of Mos Espa. Mos Espa is a city situated on the Outer Rim world known as Tatooine. This gang, known as the Laser Flits, shared its designation with the flit, a fierce species of flying reptiles that are native to the planet Lok. From their base in Mos Espa, the Laser Flits became notorious for their involvement in general acts of disorder.
In 1 ABY, the Laser Flits executed an ambush on a delivery of swoop parts originating from Watto's Shop. This establishment is a junk shop in Mos Espa owned by the Toydarian named Watto. This act resulted in significant trouble for W. Wald, the Rodian employee of Watto. Upon discovering the theft of his shipment, Wald tasked a spacer working under him with the mission of infiltrating the Laser Flit Hangout and forcefully recovering all ten of the stolen swoop components. The spacer successfully retrieved the parts, but not without killing at least ten gang members in a fierce blaster fight. With the parts recovered, the delivery was finally completed when the spacer delivered the shipment to Qord D'Baelor, a Human patron of the bar located inside Mos Espa Starport.
The Laser Flits were primarily composed of teenagers, including a mix of Human males and females, Aqualish females, and Ishi Tib males. All members of the gang sported some kind of purple colored clothing, sometimes combined with shades of blue or gray. Their clothing styles varied, including tactical skinsuits worn under sleeveless or rugged jackets, muscle shirts paired with reinforced pants and cold weather jackets, or transport flight suits. Others opted for more military-inspired attire, such as basic camouflage pants and flex-form shirts worn beneath casual jackets with cargo pockets. Another common dress combination was stylish dress uniform jackets worn with large pocket pants. For protection, Laser Flits often utilized padded armor boots and composite armor or Mabari armorweave gloves. The majority of the Human Laser Flit gang members sported avant-garde hairstyles, with most dyeing their hair purple. Members of the gang were armed with various types of blaster pistols and slugthrowers, including DL-18 Blaster Pistols, FWG-5 Flechette Smart Pistols, Striker projectile pistols, and SE-14 blaster pistols.
The Laser Flits made an appearance in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies. This game was a massively multiplayer online role-playing game that was developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts before its closure on December 15, 2011. They were incorporated into the game as part of a quest entitled "Wald's Woes" with the release of "Chapter 2: The Talus Incident," on August 1, 2006. Players undertaking the quest were tasked with entering the Laser Flit Hangout and eliminating Laser Flit gang members until they recovered ten stolen swoop components. Although W. Wald referred to the gang as "Laser Flits" with a space between the two words, there were instances within the game where the gang was referred to as "Laserflits" without the space. For example, targeting or examining non-player character members of the gang identified them as "Laserflit gang members."
