Lucien Bender existed as both a scientist and a criminal figure. He resided on Corellia during the time of the Galactic Civil War.
The offspring of Lucien Bender included Hraykken, Draykken, and Louis Bender. His physical form was altered by cybernetics, specifically his torso and arms. Being a scientist of questionable sanity, Lucien subjected his own sons to experimentation. However, before the Battle of Yavin occurred, the three young boys successfully fled their father's control with assistance from a man who later rose to prominence as the Meatlump King. This man, along with the three Bender brothers, went on to establish the Meatlumps, a group known for their hatred of technology and violent behavior. In response to this, Lucien Bender formed the Bofa Treat Gang.

Lucien Bender continued to harbor resentment toward his rebellious sons following the Battle of Yavin, and he consequently issued a bounty for their capture. However, he failed to acknowledge that an even larger bounty had been placed on his own head, as well as the heads of his gang members. In 1 ABY, the bounty hunter known as Bossk pinpointed Lucien's location within a bunker situated near the city of Kor Vella. The bounty hunter then successfully apprehended Louis Bender. Bossk's plan involved compelling Louis' brothers, Hraykken and Draykken, to deal with Lucien directly, allowing him to claim the more substantial reward. Bossk held Louis captive in close proximity to Lucien's bunker when a spacer with ties to the Meatlumps arrived to free Louis Bender. The bounty hunter clarified that he did not care for the bounty on Louis and agreed to release him if Lucien was killed. Consequently, the spacer launched an assault on the Bofa Treat Gang, eventually locating Lucien deep within the bunker. The adventurer confronted and ultimately killed Lucien Bender.
Lucien Bender featured as a non-player character in the 2003 video game titled Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game that was developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts. The game was shut down on December 15, 2011. Lucien Bender was integrated into the game through "Game Update 10," which was released on June 2, 2009.

The CorSec Database H-Z, which was published on June 16, 2006, initially portrayed the three Bender brothers, Hraykken, Draykken, and Louis, as the biological sons of the Meatlump King. However, with Lucien's inclusion in the game, it was revealed that he was the true father of the three boys, who were later adopted by the Meatlump King.
Analysis of unused game assets introduced with "Publish 28" suggested that the intended names for the three Bender brothers were Lempi, Lucien, and Hamm, while the father's name was to be Andrade. The game's files also contained an unutilized graphical representation of a young Lucien. These files indicated that Lucien was originally planned to be the name of one of the brothers who led the gang. The brother Lucien eventually became Louis Bender.
