"Introducing the Young Jedi" marks the debut short film of the Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures animated series. Its initial release occurred on March 27, 2023, via the Disney Junior YouTube channel.
The episode commences with Kai Brightstar, Lys Solay, and Nubs gearing up for a training session that involves a training droid. Despite Solay expressing reservations about the training droid's suitability for their age group, Brightstar is determined to proceed. As the three younglings engage in lightsaber combat against the three-armed droid, Kai seizes the opportunity to introduce his companions, Lys and Nubs, both of whom are undergoing Jedi training at the Jedi Temple located on Tenoo.
Brightstar points out Solay's extensive knowledge of animals. She performs a rescue of a River Qwewt just before the training droid severs a rope. Brightstar shares that he and his friends aspire to become Jedi Knights in the future, while acknowledging the significant learning curve ahead. The training droid then propels Nubs into a wall, leading to its collapse. Despite his diminutive stature, Nubs exhibits remarkable strength, managing to support the heavy bricks.
Upon realizing the excessive difficulty posed by the droid, Brightstar makes an attempt to deactivate it. While trying to maintain his grip on the droid, he is thrown off, and the droid brandishes its blades at the younglings. Prompted by Solay, the three Jedi younglings execute a synchronized assault, successfully immobilizing its three arms. With the droid proving persistent, Brightstar uses a holoprojector to contact his pilot acquaintance, Nash Durango, seeking assistance. Durango responds, indicating that she and her droid, RJ-83, are en route to provide aid.
The training droid proceeds to hurl the children aside. Brightstar then employs the Force to suspend the training droid in the air and encourages his fellow younglings to pool their Force abilities, urging them to maintain composure and trust in each other. They manage to restrain the droid sufficiently for Durango to arrive, enabling RJ-83 to deactivate the training droid by pressing its chest button. The four friends then share a celebratory embrace.
However, the River Qwewt inadvertently causes a column of bricks to topple, initiating a chain reaction. Just before a column of bricks is about to fall on the children, Jedi Master Yoda intervenes, employing the Force to divert the bricks. Brightstar expresses his delight at the arrival of his hero and offers an apology to the seasoned Jedi. Yoda acknowledges their ongoing learning process and expresses satisfaction that they have grasped the significance of teamwork. He then dispatches them on a mission alongside Durango. The four friends subsequently embark on a journey aboard Durango's starship, the Crimson Firehawk.
