Meiloorun fruit

The meiloorun fruit, alternatively referred to as meiloorun melon or simply meiloorun, was a species of fruit characterized by its orange hue.

Description

These meilooruns displayed a rind exhibiting both orange and yellow colors. Furthermore, a hybrid variation existed, distinguished by its purple rind.

Meilooruns were commercially available across the galaxy on various planets, including Tatooine and Lothal. Notably, the fruit was not native to Lothal, which contributed to its scarcity there.

This particular fruit was well-known as the preferred snack of the rebel pilot Hera Syndulla. The clone trooper known as "Big-Mouth" was also known for his penchant for finding and consuming meilooruns, irrespective of his unit's location.

History

On one occasion, a substantial quantity of these fruits came into the possession of an Imperial unit stationed on Lothal. However, they were subsequently lost due to the actions of two members of the Spectres, namely Ezra Bridger and Garazeb Orrelios.

During an attack targeting Imperial Troop Transports, and following the events of the Siege of Lothal, Zeb adopted the alias "Commander Meiloorun" for various purposes. He utilized this name again as a disguise to facilitate his team's escape from the Inquisitors.

A box containing meilooruns had a selling price of 260 Galactic Credit Standard in the year 3 ABY.

During a chase that occurred in Mos Espa involving Mayor Mok Shaiz's majordomo and a street gang hired by Boba Fett, the majordomo's landspeeder crashed into a cart filled with meilooruns. The ensuing impact resulted in the landspeeder being buried under the fruit, effectively ending the pursuit. Following the Battle for Mos Espa, a young girl offered meilooruns to Boba Fett and Fennec Shand. Shand declined the offer, but Fett accepted the fruit and gave it to Krrsantan, who consumed it with enthusiasm.

Behind the scenes

The origin of meilooruns can be traced back to X-Wing: Wedge's Gamble, a Star Wars Legends novel authored by Michael A. Stackpole and published in 1996. Meiloorun juice is available for purchase within the real-world Ronto Roasters establishment situated in the themed area Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.
