In the third month of the Clone Wars, Omega Squad embarked on a Mission to Qiilura.
Kast Fulier, a Jedi Master, and his Padawan Etain Tur-Mukan were present on the planet, gathering intel. However, Fulier was taken prisoner while shielding the local populace from Ghez Hokan, the local militia's leader, and his henchmen. Simultaneously, Etain went into hiding to avoid capture. The Republic dispatched Omega Squad to Qiilura with the objective of sabotaging the research and development of the FG36 nanovirus, a clone-killing agent, and to capture the scientist heading the project, Dr. Ovolot Qail Uthan.
Upon landing on the planet, Darman became separated from his squadmates and encountered Etain. The remaining members of Omega Squad had to evade the local inhabitants, and soon encountered Jinart, a shape-shifting Gurlanin. Jinart proved invaluable to the mission, providing intelligence and serving as a liaison between Darman and the rest of Omega Squad.
Niner, Atin, and Fi launched an assault on a control center at a mining facility, securing explosives and capturing Guta-Nay, Ghez Hokan's former second-in-command. Niner utilized the explosives to destroy the planet's communications center in Teklet, enabling Omega Squad to communicate via comlink and preparing them for their final assault. The squad eventually reunited with Darman and Etain, then proceeded to storm the research facility and apprehend Doctor Uthan. Atin, Darman, and Etain escorted her to a waiting LAAT/i gunship, but Captain Hurati, Hokan's second in command, shot Atin with a Verpine shatter gun. Uthan sustained injuries from a fragment of Atin's armor. Darman and Etain carried both of them to the waiting gunship, where their injuries were treated. Arligan Zey, a Jedi Master who had accompanied the gunship, insisted on departing the planet, but Etain refused to abandon Niner and Fi, who had stayed behind to complete the destruction of the research facility. She even threatened to disable the gunship by severing its power lines. Ultimately, Zey conceded and allowed Darman and Etain to return and search for the two commandos.
In the meantime, Niner and Fi were confronted by Hokan alone. The battle dragged on, so Niner feigned severe injury, yelling for his training sergeant Kal Skirata. Hokan was about to kill Niner with a vibroblade, but Etain appeared from behind and decapitated Hokan. Subsequently, they returned to the gunship, and Omega Squad was extracted from Qiilura. Etain, along with Zey, remained behind to train the inhabitants of Qiilura in guerrilla tactics, with the goal of driving the Separatists off the planet.
