Nacon

Nacon, a heavenly body, existed within the Deep Core and [the Interior](/article/the_interior] regions. Its location was specified as grid square L-10 on the Standard Galactic Grid. The planet was linked via the Koros Trunk Line hyperspace route to both Coruscant and Empress Teta. Its atmosphere was characterized by a high concentration of ammonia.

The planet Nacon served as the original homeworld for the sentient Elnacon species. Among them was Dava Cassamam, a cloud-miner who worked on gas giant planets. Similar to the rest of her species, Cassamam was required to utilize a specialized breathing apparatus when venturing beyond Nacon. An entry from an artist's journal was, at one point, devoted to the Elnacon. Within this entry, their planet of origin was labeled as "unknown." Eventually, the journal underwent restoration and expansion before being showcased at the Graf Archive, sometime after 34 ABY.

Behind the scenes

The initial reference to Nacon was in the 2018 reference work, Star Wars: Alien Archive, authored by Natalie Clubb and Katrina Pallant, where it was identified as the Elnacon's "unknown" homeworld. Its formal identification occurred in the 2019 reference book, Ultimate Star Wars, New Edition.
