Niuk Niuv served as a Senator representing the Brema sector and hailing from Sullustan.
During the Yuuzhan Vong War, Niuv held a position within the New Republic Advisory Council. He aligned himself with the anti-Jedi faction, which held the majority, and was suspected of having ties to significant smuggling operations within Sullustan Space.
Niuv was of the opinion that Leia Organa Solo's pronouncements regarding the Yuuzhan Vong threat were merely a diversion tactic to deflect attention from the Jedi. Following the Fall of Coruscant, Niuv lent his support to Pwoe's bid for the position of Chief of State; however, after the Battle of Borleias, he withdrew his assistance. When Cal Omas was elected as Chief of State and subsequently transformed the New Republic into the Galactic Alliance, Niuv received an appointment to the Galactic Alliance Advisory Council. This appointment was largely a conciliatory gesture towards the remaining anti-Jedi minority within the Senate. In the aftermath of the Battle of Ebaq, he advocated for a comprehensive offensive against the Yuuzhan Vong, but this proposal was defeated following the Battle of Bastion.
