Ord Zynthar, a world, existed within the Ord Zynthar system. Its location was in the Lambda sector, which itself was part of the Trailing Sectors region of the Mid Rim.
During the Pius Dea Era, Ord Zynthar functioned as an Ordnance/Regional Depot outpost for the Galactic Republic. This era, a time period, spanned from roughly 12,000 BBY to 11,000 BBY, despite the planet's position outside the Republic's territorial space. In 11,660 BBY, when the Republic initiated the Twelfth Pius Dea Crusade aimed at the Teirasan and Zarracine species, Republic forces utilized Ord Zynthar as a route from the Mon Gazza system, within Republic territory, to the Teirasa system.
The reference book The Essential Guide to Warfare, written by Jason Fry and Paul R. Urquhart in 2012, was the first source to introduce Ord Zynthar. The StarWars.com Online Companion, which supplemented the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, situated the Ord Zynthar system, and consequently the planet, within grid square P-16.
