The Outer Rim Command Center served as a base for the Galactic Republic and was situated within the Outer Rim Territories during the period of the Clone Wars.
During a mission that took place on the third moon of the planet Vassek located within the Vassek system, Jedi Master Kit Fisto gave instructions to the two clone troopers who were guarding their Nu-class attack/transport shuttle outside of General Grievous' lair. This order to contact the Outer Rim Command came after they had engaged Grievous while pursuing the Trade Federation Viceroy Nute Gunray, who had previously escaped from Republic custody due to a Separatist rescue operation. However, the Kaleesh Grievous, after activating his IG-100 MagnaGuards, commanded his guards to completely seal off the fortress's perimeter, which led to the destruction of the shuttle and the subsequent deaths of both troopers.
The Outer Rim Command Center was initially referenced, though not explicitly named, in "Lair of Grievous," the tenth episode from the first season of the animated television show Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which was broadcast on December 12, 2008. Its formal identification occurred later in the episode guide accompanying "Landing at Point Rain," the fifth episode of the show's second season, which was transmitted on November 4, 2009.
