Phoenix Two

Phoenix Two was the designation employed by a pilot within Phoenix Squadron, which was a squadron of A-wing pilots serving the rebellion against the forces of the Galactic Empire. Individuals operating under this callsign participated in several engagements against the Empire during the rebellion's initial phase.

History

The callsign Phoenix Two was assigned to members of Phoenix Squadron, a squadron composed of RZ-1 A-wing interceptors fighting for the early rebellion against the Galactic Empire. During the Siege of Lothal, when the Sith Lord Darth Vader attacked the Phoenix fleet, the pilot using the Phoenix Two designation was shot down and killed by the Sith Lord. Subsequently, another pilot adopted the Phoenix Two callsign during the rebels' attempt to breach the Imperial blockade around the planet Ibaar.

Later on, a pilot identified as Phoenix Two engaged the Mandalorian Protectors, a group of Mandalorian warriors protecting the Concord Dawn system on behalf of the Empire. This Phoenix Two operated under the command of Hera Syndulla, the captain of Phoenix Squadron. Shortly after this, a pilot with the Phoenix Two call sign engaged in combat against the Empire and attempted to dock with a CR90 corvette as the battle concluded. However, this pilot was shot down.

Following the establishment of Chopper Base, a new operational hub on Atollon, by the rebels, a rebel utilizing the Phoenix Two call sign reported to Sabine Wren that the squadron had completed the deployment of sensors on the eastern perimeter of the base, but that Lieutenant Dicer of Phoenix Squadron had not yet returned.

During the Rebel Alliance's attack on Lothal, Mart Mattin operated under this specific callsign.
