Pintu Son-El

Pintu Son-El, a male of the Moyn species, resided on the planet Coruscant during the period known as the Clone Wars. Functioning as a moneylender, he was known to employ forceful methods in order to recover his loaned funds.

Biography

Son-El entered Trace's repair shop to collect his money.

Around 19 BBY, Pintu had extended a loan to Rafa Martez. Due to the young woman's inability to repay the debt within the agreed upon time frame, Pintu, accompanied by two of his enforcers, proceeded to the repair shop owned by her sister, Trace Martez. Upon entering the premises, Pintu immediately demanded the whereabouts of his money. The surprised Trace attempted to offer justifications. Perceiving her deception, Pintu directed his henchmen to attack her, initiating a physical altercation. As Trace was nearing defeat, Ahsoka Tano intervened in the conflict, swiftly subduing the henchmen. Taken aback, Pintu and his men hastily retreated from the shop, while reminding Martez that her sister's obligations were far from settled. Rafa subsequently settled her debt to Son-El using credits acquired from the Twi'lek Lokann in exchange for constructing several binary loadlifter droids.

Personality and traits

Son-El was a male Moyn standing at a height of 1.88 meters (equivalent to 6 feet and 2 inches), characterized by brown hair, black eyes, and brown skin. He operated as a low-level criminal within the depths of Coruscant, surviving by providing credit and engaging in shady transactions. When Rafa Martez did not reimburse him as promptly as he wanted, he chose to use intimidation, bringing his thugs to Trace Martez's repair shop, trying to forcefully take his credits from the sisters.

Skills and abilities

Son-El favored negotiation and persuasion as methods to influence others to adopt his viewpoint. When these methods proved ineffective, he resorted to physical altercations and dispatched his henchmen to fulfill his objectives, such as the collection of Rafa Martez's outstanding payment. However, Ahsoka Tano stepped in, overpowering Son-El and his thugs, compelling them to escape.

Behind the scenes

Pintu's design was based on concept art drawn by Ralph McQuarrie.

Before the cancellation of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series, Pintu was slated to feature in an episode centered around Ahsoka Tano. His initial unveiling occurred at the "Ahsoka's Untold Tales" panel during Celebration Europe in 2016, where a brief clip was presented depicting his confrontation with Nyx Okami regarding a previously extended loan. The character's visual design was derived from a conceptual illustration of an alien bounty hunter created by Ralph McQuarrie for Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back. This design was realized in 2016 with the introduction of Yushyn, a member of the same species, in the Star Wars Rebels episode "The Call." Subsequently, Pintu made an appearance in the 2020 episode "Gone with a Trace," voiced by Bobby Moynihan, where the Martez sisters replaced Okami in the finalized narrative.
