A Moyn male named Yushyn held the position of boss at a Mining Guild facility. This facility was an Asteroid Belt Gas Refinery that operated in 3 BBY (year). The refinery's employees were Rodian, and their primary task was to refine Clouzon-36 gas. This gas served as a fuel source for the Galactic Empire. When purrgil, space-traveling creatures, started consuming the gas, Yushyn gave the order to eliminate them to safeguard the valuable resource.
During an event where purrgil were being shot at, a group of rebels attacked the refinery. These rebels aimed to pilfer some fuel for the Rebellion and their starship, known as the Ghost. In the ensuing conflict, Yushyn was pulled into the depths of the planetoid by a purrgil. Ultimately, the rebels succeeded in destroying the refinery and escaping with the stolen fuel.
In the year 3 BBY, a Moyn male named Yushyn was employed by the Mining Guild. He held the position of overseer and boss at an Asteroid Belt Gas Refinery. This refinery was situated on a small planetoid located in the vast expanse of space. The primary function of the facility was the collection and refinement of Clouzon-36 gas. The refinery's workforce (staffed) consisted of members of the Rodian species.
When a group of deep-space creatures known as purrgil approached the refinery seeking to feed on the gas, Yushyn dispatched a pair of the Guild's modified TIE fighters with orders to eliminate them. Later, Yushyn observed two of his Rodian workers firing upon the purrgil from the refinery using one of the base's blaster cannons and inquired about the creatures' continued presence. Upon learning that his starfighters had ceased responding to communications, he insisted that the base's cannons maintain their fire on the purrgil until all of them were dead. In reality, the Ghost, a rebel starship, had destroyed the TIEs. The crew of the Ghost was searching the area for the refinery, intending to steal its fuel for their own ship and the Phoenix Squadron of the Rebellion. Using the purrgil as a diversion, three members of the Ghost's crew descended from the ship, which was positioned in the planetoid's upper atmosphere, and initiated a battle with the Rodian workers.
While Ezra Bridger, a Jedi apprentice, provided cover for the rebels using a captured cannon, his Master, Kanan Jarrus, and the Mandalorian Sabine Wren worked to secure a landing zone for the Ghost to begin refueling. Yushyn, having been alerted to the attack, instructed his men to protect a shipment of Clouzon-36 fuel destined for the Galactic Empire at all costs. He then left the refinery to join the fight. Yushyn ordered his remaining two fighters to launch and attack the rebels, who were attempting to load the Imperial shipment onto the Ghost. He demanded that the thieves surrender. The fighting briefly stopped as Yushyn awaited the rebels' response, but it resumed when the purrgil emerged from the Clouzon-36 surrounding the refinery and attacked the Guild TIE fighters, having allied themselves with Bridger.
Seeing that the rebel crew had finished loading the shipment and were taking off, Yushyn ordered his men to concentrate their fire on the Ghost rather than the purrgil. As he moved to provide cover for his men, Yushyn found himself trapped on one of the refinery's walkways between two purrgil. He shouted at the creatures and attempted to jump from the walkway after one lunged at him, but it grabbed him in its mouth and dragged him down into the planetoid's depths beneath the refinery. After collecting the fuel they needed, the rebels fired on the refinery from the Ghost, destroying it. They then left the planetoid alongside the purrgil, who had consumed their share of gas.
Yushyn, known for his grumpiness, led the Mining Guild refinery with intense dedication and was a demanding boss. He communicated with his Rodian workers in Galactic Basic Standard. Considering the purrgil repulsive, he coldly ordered his men to kill them to prevent them from consuming the gas. Yushyn had brown fur and skin, along with two black eyes.
Yushyn wore a turquoise-and-yellow uniform similar to those worn by the Rodian employees of the Mining Guild refinery. However, Yushyn's uniform included a white utility vest with two pouches on his upper torso and the Mining Guild logo on the front and back. Yushyn also wore black boots. He piloted a Mining Guild TIE fighter.
Yushyn's debut occurred in "The Call," the fifteenth episode of the second season of the animated television series Star Wars Rebels, which premiered on February 10, 2016. Fred Tatasciore voiced him, also providing dialogue for one of the Rodian workers in the episode.
The character's design originated from a piece of alien bounty hunter concept art created by Ralph McQuarrie for Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back. JP Balmet produced concept art of Yushyn for Star Wars Rebels. The sixty-fourth issue of De Agostini's magazine series Star Wars: Build the Millennium Falcon, published around March 23, 2016, mistakenly identified Yushyn as a Rodian.
