Plot summary

The narrative unfolds on Nam Chorios, a remote planet situated in the Outer Rim. This world is infamous for its history as the epicenter of the Death Seed plague from centuries prior. Currently, it is the base of operations for a fanatical religious cult, which is devising a plan to utilize a novel weapon system comprised of semi-sentient crystals as autonomous, unstoppable starfighters to assault the New Republic. Leia Organa Solo undertakes an unofficial journey to engage with Seti Ashgad, who leads the Rationalist Party.

Luke Skywalker arrives in response to a communication received from Callista Ming, a past romantic interest. Unfortunately, Luke's ship is downed, and Leia is abducted by the ancient and corrupt Beldorion the Hutt.

Solo deduces the scheme hatched by Seti Ashgad and Dzym, who is revealed to be an evolved droch, and intends to flee. Skywalker, using the alias Owen Lars, searches for Ming and uncovers that the messages received by the Rationalists are elaborate fabrications created by an intelligent hacker named Liegeus Vorn. He races to rescue Solo from her captors within Ashgad's temple.

Following a series of perilous experiences, during which Solo eliminates Beldorion and Skywalker becomes infused with the raw power of the Force, they manage to escape and thwart the political conspiracy between the Rationalists and the New Republic.
