Plorest held the position of Grand Moff within the Corusca sector of the Galactic Empire. Following the presumed death of Emperor Sheev Palpatine in 4 ABY, he proclaimed himself Galactic Emperor by utilizing the fabricated Imperial Security Code 88173.1. The Imperial Military disregarded Plorest's claim, and within a mere three days, he met his end, assassinated by one of his romantic partners.

As the Galactic Empire's Grand Moff for the Corusca sector, Plorest oversaw the sector containing Coruscant, the Empire's capital world. Given that the majority of actual governance occurred on Coruscant, Plorest's leadership was largely symbolic. However, after Galactic Emperor Sheev Palpatine was thought to have perished during the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY, the Grand Moff came to the conclusion that Mas Amedda, Palpatine's Grand Vizier, would not adequately fill the power vacuum.
Subsequently, Plorest decided to contact Imperial forces throughout the galaxy, invoking the entirely made-up Imperial Security Code 88173.1 to announce his ascension to the position of Emperor. This declaration was documented in a file titled "Declaration of the Transfer of Imperial Power" located within the "Corusca Sector" section of the Imperial Archives. The military establishment ignored Plorest's claims, and in less than three days, the former Grand Moff was killed by one of his lovers. In 35 ABY, Beaumont Kin, a historian, included Plorest in his book, The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire, among other self-proclaimed Emperors.
The reference book Star Wars: The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire, written by Dr. Chris Kempshall, mentioned Plorest in 2024.
