Qade was a member of the police force, specifically a police officer, situated on the Galactic Alliance's [capital](/article/capital/legends] planet, Coruscant. This was during the period of the Second Galactic Civil War, which saw conflict between the Galactic Alliance and the Confederation. By the year 41 ABY, he had risen to the rank of sergeant within the Coruscant Security Force, and was also a member of the Galactic Alliance Guard. Throughout his service, he became known as a trustworthy officer who consistently required thorough reports from those under his command.
In 41 ABY, Jedi Knight Jaina Solo encountered CSF Officers Tobyl and Jat'ho while attempting to save Jedi Ben Skywalker from a Galactic Alliance Guard operation. Using a mind trick combined with a fabricated story about investigating Qade, she successfully persuaded them to allow her to pass. The two officers were deceived, enabling her to seize control of the medwagon they were guarding and chase after the vehicle transporting Skywalker.
Troy Denning first included Qade in Legacy of the Force: Invincible, a novel that was published in 2008 and is part of the Star Wars: Legacy of the Force series.
