Rainn Poras was a member of the Rebel Alliance, serving at the Echo Base installation on the planet of Hoth. After Chase Wilsorr, a kitchen employee, disturbed Poras's sleep one morning, Poras told him to be quiet. Subsequently, Poras offered a sarcastic expression of gratitude to the kitchen worker for a delivery on the following day. During the Galactic Empire's invasion on Hoth, Poras boarded the GR-75 medium transport named Bright Hope and praised Wilsorr for assisting some latecomers.
During the time of the Galactic Civil War, Rainn Poras was a member of the Rebel Alliance. He was stationed at the Alliance's Echo Base on the ice planet Hoth in 3 ABY, where he had a striped bed covering in the barracks. One day around 4:00 AM, Poras was asleep in the base's barracks when Chase Wilsorr, who worked in the kitchen, was talking to himself a few bunks away. Poras instructed the "kitchen boy" to be quiet and go to his job quickly. The following day, Poras was at Echo Station 5-4 when Wilsorr delivered a crate to the station. Poras expressed sarcastic thanks to the kitchen worker for the delivery, jokingly calling it critical. He then instructed Wilsorr to take a crate of blasters that needed recharging, and the kitchen worker complied.

However, the following day, the Galactic Empire located and attacked Echo Base. As part of the Alliance's evacuation plan, Poras boarded the GR-75 medium transport Bright Hope, which was the last rebel transport departing Hoth. Wilsorr also boarded after assisting several stragglers in reaching the ship. The passengers on the Bright Hope cheered when the kitchen worker arrived, and Poras congratulated the kitchen worker for helping other personnel. The Bright Hope departed from Echo Base and escaped Hoth, escorted by a pair of T-65B X-wing starfighters.
Rainn Poras made an appearance in the short story "A Good Kiss," penned by C.B. Lee as part of the 2020 short story compilation titled From a Certain Point of View: The Empire Strikes Back.
