Rattle
Rattle served as a clone trooper within the Grand Army of the Galactic Republic. Following the conclusion of the Clone Wars, and after the Republic was turned into the Galactic Empire, the clone soldiers were retired from service and replaced by stormtroopers. Rattle then chose to spend his retirement working as a janitor at the Junior Academy of Applied Sciences which was located on Lothal.
Behind the scenes
Initially, the character of Rattle was planned for inclusion in Servants of the Empire: Edge of the Galaxy, which is the initial book in the Servants of the Empire series of junior novels by Jason Fry. His role would have been to assist the main character of the series, Zare Leonis, by sharing leadership skills he learned during the Clone Wars. Zare would then apply these skills while playing grav-ball. However, the creative team working on the Star Wars Rebels animated TV show requested that Fry remove the character. They cautioned that his inclusion would reveal a storyline they were creating for the show's second season.
