Raydonia

Raydonia, a planet with forests and a temperate climate, was situated in the Outer Rim Territories of the galaxy.

Description

This small and easily missed planet, Raydonia, was located in the Outer Rim Territories of the galaxy and orbited by two moons. It was connected to Botajef and Nag Ubdur via a hyperspace route; Akiva, Dathomir, and Dermos were among the other relatively nearby planets. This temperate world, covered in forests, hosted a neutral settlement reliant on regular supply deliveries from transport ships.

History

During the Clone Wars, Maul, a rogue Sith Lord, and his sibling Savage Opress traveled to Raydonia, where they slaughtered human colonists with the intention of luring Obi-Wan Kenobi to the location. Upon Kenobi's arrival, he, along with Asajj Ventress, fought the two Sith brothers.

After the Battle of Endor, Wedge Antilles volunteered to patrol some Outer Rim planets where Imperial forces might still be present. While on Raydonia, he reported to the New Republic before he and his starhopper were captured over Akiva by the Star Destroyer named Vigilance. Following his disappearance, the New Republic dispatched scouting parties to several neighboring planets, including Akiva.

Behind the scenes

Raydonia's debut occurred in "Revenge," the 22nd episode of fourth season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

The Aftermath novel lists Akiva, Tatooine, Mustafar, Dermos, and Geonosis as the "five closest worlds" to Raydonia. However, while Tatooine and Geonosis are both within the Arkanis sector (at Grid Space R-16), it has been established that Mustafar is located a significant distance away from them (at L-19). Additionally, both of these planets are on the opposite side of the galaxy compared to Dathomir (at O-6).

The Star Wars: Timelines galactic map indicates that Raydonia and Akiva are not near Mustafar or Tatooine/Geonosis. Instead, it positions these two planets in the galactic north (also at O-6), relatively close to Dathomir. Considering the internal inconsistency within the Aftermath description, this article relies on the location provided by Timelines as the accurate one.
