Resa Greenbark

Resa Greenbark was the daughter of Bomo Greenbark, who held the rank of Commander within the Nosaurian contingent of the resistance movement. This movement was based on their homeworld of New Plympto in 19 BBY. During the concluding battle of the Galactic Empire's cleansing of the planet, a process which had been newly instated, Resa and her mother, Mesa, were among those evacuated. However, they were captured by Imperial forces and, along with other evacuees, were transported to Orvax IV to be sold as slaves. Subsequently, Orso Meeto sold Resa to Dezono Qua, a transaction that Bomo later discovered. This discovery led him to Qua's location on Esseles. When Dass Jennir, Bomo's companion, confronted Qua, the latter confessed to having consumed the child, an admission that resulted in Jennir executing Qua death.

Biography

Resa Greenbark was a female Nosaurian hailing from the Core planet of New Plympto. As the only child of Mesa and Bomo Greenbark, she was the sole offspring of her parents. Her father, Bomo, served as a Commander within the ranks of the Nosaurian resistance during the Clone Wars and fought against the newly formed Galactic Empire in 19 BBY. During the final stand at Half-Axe Pass, the resistance forces attempted to hold back the Imperial troops, allowing non-combatant Nosaurians to evacuate. Bomo supervised the evacuation of Resa and Mesa aboard the last of the transports, but he was unable to join them due to his duty to return to the fighting, despite Resa's emotional pleas. The evacuees were taken to [Cadgel Meadows](/article/cadgel_meadows], where Mesa and Resa hoped to board a ship bound for Sullust. However, Imperial forces at the spaceport captured all the evacuees. Considering them unsuitable for labor, the Empire transported them to Orvax IV, intending to sell them as slaves for profit.

On Orvax IV, Resa was offered for sale by Orso Meeto, a Chagrian slaver. When Mesa attempted to prevent a group of slavers from taking her daughter, she was killed. Meeto subsequently sold the Nosaurian youngling to Dezono Qua, a Human noble residing on Esseles. Bomo and the crew of the Uhumele, who had rescued him and his companion Dass Jennir from New Plympto, arrived on Orvax IV only hours after Resa had been sold, arriving too late to rescue her.

Within Qua's fortified villa on Esseles, Resa was killed so that E-10—Qua's protocol droid—could prepare her as a meal for the noble, a practice he followed with all young slaves he acquired. Unbeknownst to Qua, the crew of the Uhumele had located Resa's buyer and attacked the villa shortly after Resa had been consumed. Jennir confronted Qua as he attempted to flee, and Bomo and the other crewmembers arrived just before Qua confessed to having eaten Resa. To spare Bomo the psychological consequences of killing Qua himself, Jennir shot and killed the noble with his blaster.

Personality and traits

Resa was deeply loved by both of her parents. Her mother even gave her life in an attempt to prevent Resa from being taken away. Resa's father, Bomo, carried a holoprojector around his neck that projected a hologram of Resa. During the evacuation, Resa repeatedly begged her father to accompany her, but Bomo declined, citing his duty to remain behind. This distressed Resa, but her father comforted her by showing her his hologram of her.

Behind the scenes

Resa's sole appearance occurred in Dark Times 1, the initial issue of the first story arc within the Star Wars: Dark Times comic book series. This issue was released on November 8, 2006, and was written by Mic Harrison, a pseudonym used by Randy Stradley. The illustrations were created by Douglas Wheatley.
