Ringlite system

The Ringlite system, a star system with inhabitants, was located within the Outer Rim Territories. This system suffered greatly during the Great Hyperspace Disaster of 232 BBY, when it was struck by an Emergence. This Emergence consisted of fragments of hyperspace debris originating from the destroyed Legacy Run freighter. This catastrophic event caused several thousand deaths within the system; however, the security squads of the Ringlite system were able to prevent even greater loss of life.

As a consequence of the Ringlite system's Emergence, Lina Soh, the Supreme Chancellor of the Galactic Republic, broadened the scope of her ban on the majority of hyperspace travel. This ban was to remain in effect until the galaxy's hyperspace routes could be deemed safe once more. Izzet Noor, the Serennian senator, chose not to challenge this decision, despite the increasing economic pressures to permit trade to continue in the Outer Rim, a course of action he would have normally taken. Shortly thereafter, Avar Kriss, a Jedi Master, recalled the Emergence while visiting the leaders of the San Tekka clan of hyperspace prospectors as part of her investigation into the cause of the Great Hyperspace Disaster.
