The security squads active within the Ringlite system of the Outer Rim Territories were present throughout the High Republic Era. During the Great Hyperspace Disaster in 232 BBY, when the system suffered an Emergence caused by wreckage from the destroyed Legacy Run [freighter](/article/freighter] entering hyperspace, these squads dedicated themselves to rescuing as many individuals as they could. Even though thousands of Ringlite system inhabitants deaths occurred, their efforts were successful in preventing even greater fatalities.
Many within the Galactic Republic viewed the Emergence in the Ringlite system as a devastating event, prompting Supreme Chancellor Lina Soh to extend her restrictions on the majority of hyperspace travel until the galaxy's hyperspace routes could be deemed secure. Subsequently, Jedi Master Avar Kriss reflected on the Emergence, and the contribution of the Ringlite system's security squads in lessening its impacts, while she investigated the root cause of the Great Hyperspace Disaster.
Charles Soule included these squads in his 2021 novel, Light of the Jedi, which formed a part of Phase I of the Star Wars: The High Republic extensive media initiative.
