Emergences

The Emergences refer to a series of calamitous events that unfolded following the Great Hyperspace Disaster. This initial disaster involved the disintegration of the freighter Legacy Run within hyperspace as it attempted to evade a Nihil starship. The resulting wreckage was scattered, with numerous pieces re-entering realspace within the Hetzal system at velocities approaching lightspeed. A joint operation by the Galactic Republic and the Jedi Order, under the leadership of Jedi Master Avar Kriss, successfully mitigated the majority of the damage within Hetzal. Nevertheless, additional fragments of the destroyed vessel continued to materialize from hyperspace across the Outer Rim Territories.

The [first Emergence](/article/first_emergence] event occurred in the Ab Dalis system, resulting in the deaths of approximately twenty million individuals when a fragment impacted the planet Ab Dalis. As these events persisted, entire civilizations were eradicated by the Emergences. In response to these widespread catastrophes, Supreme Chancellor Lina Soh implemented the closure of various hyperspace routes throughout the Outer Rim region. Utilizing a navidroid array developed by Keven Tarr, the Republic gained the ability to forecast the locations of subsequent Emergences. This allowed them to recover the flight recorder from the Legacy Run, which was crucial in determining the root cause of the initial disaster.

The Koboh Emergence violently struck the Moon of Koboh, shattering a significant portion of it into fragments. The majority of this debris then rained down upon the planet's surface, causing extensive devastation and accelerating the Republic's pre-existing plans to evacuate the planet following the Attack on Tanalorr. The planet Brendok suffered a direct hit from an Emergence, rendering it completely uninhabitable. However, by the subsequent century, the planet had remarkably recovered and was flourishing with new life.
