Rudi, a male Wookiee from the High Republic Era, was the sibling of Johgeshakka. During the Life Day festivities, he served as the pilot of a shuttle transporting food for the celebratory meal. However, his starship was downed by the pirate Sellaccc Orryak along with the Ganguls, with the goal of disrupting the Wookiees' holiday. As a result, Rudi was made a prisoner. Kai Brightstar, Lys Solay, and Nubs, who were Jedi Initiates, tried to assist Jo in rescuing Rudi, but they themselves were also captured by the Ganguls. Nevertheless, Daynaal, who was Orryak's nephew, liberated both the Wookiees and the Jedi. Rudi then joined Daynaal to assemble more Wookiees, and together with the Jedi, they prevented the Ganguls from felling the Life Day tree.
