Sakai-wood referred to a wood that possessed a light-colored hue. Sinjir Rath Velus, once an Imperial loyalty officer (but now ex-), abruptly roused his associate, Jom Barell, a previous sergeant from the New Republic, out of his sleep in 5 ABY. When Barell's eyes became clear, he noticed Velus in front of him and remembered the sakai-wood tone of his complexion.
Aftermath: Empire's End, the concluding book of Star Wars: The Aftermath Trilogy, featured sakai-wood. Chuck Wendig authored this 2017 publication.
