Doctor Sannus Lorrick was a scientist of Human male origin. He lived during the era of the Galactic War, a conflict between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire.
Lorrick, a male Human hailing from the Tion Hegemony, served as the Royal Science Advisor in the decades leading up to the Galactic War. Before his exposure, he spent close to ten years engaging in illicit viral modification and gene splicing experiments. The fifteen test subjects that were still alive in his labs were so heavily modified that their original species could not be determined, leading to his largely being acquitted and exiled from the Hegemony rather than imprisoned. Vowing vengeance, Lorrick eventually began experimenting on the rakghoul virus in his laboratory located on Ord Mantell. He was aided by his Doctors assistants: Asirr, Evad, Addy Ingrol, and Tarkom. They all believed that he was searching for a cure. Lorrick manipulated the virus and increased its capacity to cross the species barrier.
In 3639 BBY, Lorrick hired a series of pilots to transport infected creatures to the planets of the Hegemony. His gift of an infected risp to the smuggler Zama Brak resulted in the destruction of the Stardream and a outbreak on the desert planet Tatooine. As four Tionese planets succumbed to the rakghoul virus, the pilot Melarra unknowingly assisted Lorrick in spreading the plague to Kaon. Ingrol and the other assistants discovered Lorrick's true intentions and attempted to thwart him, but they were infected with the virus and brought under his control. Lorrick later battled a strike team sent to eliminate him after his involvement in the Tion outbreak was revealed. Even the doctor's self-infection with the virus could not prevent his death at their hands.
Doctor Lorrick made his debut in the 2011 Star Wars MMORPG Star Wars: The Old Republic as a part of game update 1.2 "Legacy". He was featured in the "Rise of the Rakghouls" Story arc, as well as the 2012 World event, the Rakghoul pandemic. Both Republic and Imperial players have the opportunity to confront and defeat him in the Flashpoint "Lost Island".
