Sechel was a male Pureblood Sith (not Force-sensitive) who held the roles of advisor and envoy for Darth Nyriss, a member of the Dark Councilor within the reconstituted Sith Empire. He had previously been a part of Imperial Intelligence. Although he lacked Force abilities, his sharp intellect and refined survival instincts compensated for this, as well as his unimposing physical presence, enabling him to achieve a prominent position in Sith society.
Within the Sith culture, Purebloods lacking Force sensitivity were often considered inferior, even being derisively labeled as "abominations," as noted by Scourge.
Details about Sechel's childhood are absent, as it is never discussed in the Revan Novel. However, he once served as an agent within Imperial Intelligence, acquiring skills such as Slicing. Beyond his advisory role to Darth Nyriss, he engaged in freelance work, earning credits by locating specific individuals. He frequently conducted this business in the Nexus Room Cantina, where he maintained connections, including Larvit, who referred clients to him. He also possessed an apartment located somewhere in Kaas City.
Sechel's first appearance involves escorting Lord Scourge to Darth Nyriss' stronghold. On their way, they encountered two Mercenaries, whom Sechel "chased" away, before transporting Scourge to the Stronghold via Speeder. Upon arrival, they were greeted by Murtog, Nyriss' head of security, who questioned whether this was the "real Scourge." Murtog initially denied them entry, and following a brief interrogation by Scourge, Sechel revealed that the invitation was not entirely Nyriss' idea but rather a suggestion, effectively an order, from the Emperor. The same two Mercenaries reappeared, seemingly attempting to assassinate Darth Nyriss. Sechel cowered, miraculously avoiding injury. Scourge defeated the mercenaries, managing to capture one alive. Murtog then executed the surrendered mercenary and allowed Scourge and Sechel to enter.
Sechel also demonstrated his extensive knowledge of the various artifacts in Nyriss's collection.
Darth Nyriss dispatched Sechel and Scourge on a Mission to Hallion to uncover leads regarding the assassination attempts. Sechel had managed to recover data from a sabotaged droid that attempted to assassinate Darth Nyriss; the data traced back to the Uxiol Droid Manufacturing plant on Hallion.
The pair successfully infiltrated the plant, encountering only a few patrol drones, which Scourge quickly eliminated. However, when attempting to access the records room, Sechel's code proved ineffective, prompting Scourge to use his lightsaber to bypass the controls, triggering the security alarm. Scourge pushed Sechel into the records room while he dealt with the droids, including some assault droids. Scourge nearly succumbed to the droids but was saved when Sechel activated the emergency shutdown.
Sechel had not anticipated Scourge's survival and warned that they had little time to escape the shutdown, which was destabilizing the plant's Trivium generator. Both narrowly escaped the brunt of the explosion but sustained significant injuries.
This incident further heightened Scourge's suspicions regarding Sechel's "true" motives.
Sechel's data from the Uxiol Droid Manufacturing plant led them to a separatist cell on Bosthirda. Nyriss assigned Sechel, Scourge, Murtog, and her troops to eliminate the separatists and retrieve their data.
Upon arrival, Scourge instructed Sechel and Murtog to remain behind while he cleared the area. However, they disobeyed the order, rushing in so Sechel could secure the data before the separatists could wipe any potential leads. Scourge was visibly angered by this, but Sechel displayed his cunning nature, not feeling intimidated by the Sith Lord.
The data Sechel obtained revealed the separatists' affiliation with Darth Xedrix, a Dark Council member and known rival of Nyriss.
After Lord Scourge returned from eliminating the Dark Council traitor Darth Xedrix, he sought answers to questions Xedrix had raised. He proceeded to interrogate Sechel, something he had desired to do for some time.
The Sith entered Sechel's room while he was asleep, covering the advisor's mouth and holding a knife to him, demanding answers under threat of death. Sechel provided some of the information Scourge sought, but not before having both his tendrils severed. Nyriss eventually intervened, threatening to kill Scourge if he harmed Sechel further.
Following Revan's capture and imprisonment within Nyriss's stronghold on Dromund Kaas, Meetra Surik journeyed to Nathema, where she discovered T3-M4 and a holorecording depicting Scourge and Nyriss carrying Revan onto their ship. This discovery led her to Dromund Kaas, where she struck a deal with Larvit, who directed her to Sechel in the Nexus Room Cantina. She tasked Sechel with arranging a meeting with Scourge, unaware that the two were already acquainted. Sechel charged a premium for this meeting due to Scourge's status as a Sith Lord.
After Scourge met with Meetra, an encounter that resulted in Murtog's death, they formed an alliance, agreeing to take action against the Emperor. To prove his loyalty to Meetra, Scourge sought to obtain all intelligence regarding the Dark Council members involved in the Nathema conspiracy from the individual he believed possessed it: Sechel.
He lured Sechel into a trap by having a human slave at the Nexus Room send a message to Sechel, claiming that Murtog needed to meet with him. Scourge then followed Sechel through Kaas City to Sechel's apartment, observing Sechel enter before entering himself. Once inside, he initiated another interrogation, demanding the files Sechel possessed regarding the Dark Council's conspiracy.
Eventually, Sechel relented and led Scourge to a small closet at the back of the apartment, where a small safe contained a blaster and disks containing the files Scourge sought. Sechel handed them over.
Seeing Sechel as a liability to his mission, Scourge strangled the pureblood, remarking that he wanted their final moments to be "close and personal."
