Secundus Ando, situated within the Mid Rim, was a vast, cavernous planet that served as the original homeworld for the Harch species. Admiral [Trench](/article/trench], a notable figure who served the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars, was a member of this species. Its surface was largely dominated by expansive factory cities, although some preserved arboreal zones were set aside for the Harch ruling nests. Harchic was the primary language spoken on Secundus Ando, with Aqualish and Basic serving as secondary and tertiary languages, respectively.

The Aqualish presence on Secundus Ando was significant due to their geographical nearness, and the Harch frequently allied themselves with the Spiverelda, the authoritarian regime governing the Lambda sector. This ultimately fostered a dislike for the Galactic Republic, especially after the Republic supported the Andoan Free Colonies during the Andoan Wars, which resulted in conflict with the Harch.
