Shock trooper

Shock troopers, alternatively known as droppers or drop troopers, constituted a specialized form of infantry within the ranks of both the Alliance to Restore the Republic and the subsequent New Republic. Throughout the duration of the Galactic Civil War, shock troopers were actively utilized in operations aimed at pursuing and neutralizing Imperial warlords. Subsequently, with the establishment of the New Republic, their role transitioned to that of peacekeepers, responsible for providing escort to delegates and quelling civil unrest.

History

Cara Dune's service included a period as a shock trooper during the Galactic Civil War.

In the aftermath of the Battle of Endor, a significant number of former Imperial officials transitioned into the role of warlords. Consequently, the Rebellion strategically employed shock troopers to track down and eliminate these individuals. Their deployment involved the use of dropships, often without supplementary support. Following the decline of Imperial operations and the subsequent creation of the New Republic, the shock troopers underwent a transformation, becoming peacekeepers charged with safeguarding New Republic representatives and managing instances of public disorder.

Notably, Carasynthia Dune, a shock trooper at one time, came to the conclusion that her assigned duties deviated from her initial expectations upon enlistment. Consequently, she chose to depart from the Republic's service and embarked on a career as a mercenary, characterizing her departure as an "early retirement."
