Skalder

The skalder were four-legged, plant-eating species of mammalian quadrupeds. These creatures were indigenous to the desert plains of the planet Florrum. These animals, which are herbivorous in nature, mainly lived in areas abundant with acidic geysers. As a survival mechanism, they developed the capacity to predict geyser eruptions, allowing them to move to safety before the event. Although usually not ridden by sentient creatures, they possessed surprising speed. During the Clone Wars, a contingent of Galactic Republic clone troopers, under the command of Jar Jar Binks, successfully rode untamed skalder during their mission to Florrum.
