Star Wars 61: Screams in the Void represents the sixty-first installment of the Marvel Star Wars comic book series.
A naval force of the Galactic Empire, commanded by Admiral Mils Giel aboard his flagship, is in the process of transporting a captured Teezl to the Imperial capital world. The Empire's objective is to exploit the Teezl's unique communication skills, enabling instantaneous communication across Imperial forces spread throughout the galaxy. The Rebel Alliance, aware of this Imperial strategy, has developed a counter-plan: an assault on the Imperial fleet utilizing specially enhanced TIE fighters.
Luke Skywalker, Shira Brie, Hanc Thorben, and Alph, four Rebel pilots, disguise themselves as an Imperial patrol returning to base. This allows them to bypass the defensive sentries and launch an attack on the Star Destroyers, sowing chaos within the Imperial ranks. Giel responds by ordering the Teezl to jam all communication frequencies except those used by the Imperial forces, effectively cutting off communication between the Rebel pilots on their modified frequency. Luke locates the flagship containing the Teezl, but a TIE fighter obstructs his line of fire. Unable to use his comms to determine if the fighter is an ally, Luke relies on the Force for guidance, which reveals the fighter to be an enemy. He eliminates the fighter and then attacks the ship housing the Teezl, disabling the ship and killing the Teezl.
Upon returning to the Rebel base on Arbra, Luke learns that Thorben has recovered a visual recording of Luke's engagement with the final TIE fighter. Analysis of this recording reveals that the pilot of the TIE fighter Luke destroyed was none other than their fellow Rebel, Shira Brie.
