Subjugator (Star Destroyer)

The Subjugator, a Star Destroyer serving the Imperial Navy, participated in the Galactic Civil War. In the year 4 ABY, this ship formed a component of the Imperial fleet positioned above Endor's moon, tasked with the defense of the Empire's battle station, known as the second Death Star. During that time, the Rebel Alliance attacked the Death Star and its protecting fleet, aiming to obliterate the station. In the course of the engagement, the rebel Corona Squadron launched an assault on the Subjugator, and a lapse by TIE fighter pilots allowed rebel forces to inflict damage, prompting an irate order from Imperial Commander Ciena Ree to her fellow pilots to safeguard the vessel's engines.

Despite the Subjugator's survival, the rebels ultimately prevailed by destroying the station. Subsequently, Nash Windrider, a TIE pilot, was assigned to the ship, where communication with his friend Ciena Ree was infrequent. Prior to the Battle of Jakku in 5 ABY, Windrider departed the craft to assume the role of flight commander aboard Ree's _Imperial_-class Star Destroyer, the Inflictor.

Behind the scenes

The novel Lost Stars, a young-adult work by Claudia Gray, published in 2015, included a reference to the Subjugator. Later, it made an appearance in The Odyssey of Star Wars: An Epic Poem, a poetic interpretation of the original trilogy created by Jack Mitchell in 2021.
