The secret headquarters of the Sulfur Lake Pirates, known as the Sulfur Lake Pirate Hideout, could be found on the planet Lok.
On the planet Lok, close to Sulfur Lake, resided a sizable, profound cavern: the Sulfur Lake Pirate Hideout. This served as the central hub for the Sulfur Lake Pirates, a notoriously ruthless band of pirates operating on the planet. The pirates, in fact, derived their name from the hideout's location. Consequently, they inadvertently revealed the proximity of their base to Sulfur Lake to their adversaries, leading to the eventual discovery of their concealed sanctuary.
To counter the exposure of their hideout, the Sulfur Lake Pirates implemented an intricate security system aimed at preventing unauthorized entry. Moreover, the base was defended by a contingent of pirates and well-trained veermoks. Adding to the defenses, the Bridge Troll, a formidable gurk trained by the Sulfur Lake Pirates for combat, patrolled the hideout's premises.
After their hidden sanctuary was compromised, the Sulfur Lake Pirates engaged the services of the engineer Choster to fortify the base's defenses. However, due to their attempt to eliminate him upon completion of the task, he withheld crucial information regarding the security system's vulnerabilities.
In 1 ABY, an Imperial starship experienced a crash-landing near the hideout, subsequent to its departure from a clandestine Imperial mining installation on Lok. The Sulfur Lake Pirates promptly scavenged any valuable items from the wreckage. The crash was subsequently discovered by Nym's Lok Revenants, the most dominant criminal syndicate on Lok and bitter rivals of the Sulfur Lake Pirates. Given the Revenants' prior inability to penetrate the Imperial mine, Nym's security chief, Vana Sage, surmised that the cargo might hold significant intelligence pertaining to Imperial operations on Lok. Consequently, Sage tasked a group of newly recruited spacers within the Lok Revenants with the mission of extracting Imperial data from the wreckage.
To achieve this, the spacers, accompanied by one of Nym's slicers, launched a raid on the Sulfur Lake Pirate Hideout. With the assistance of Choster, the engineer motivated by a desire for retribution against the Sulfur Lake Pirates, the spacers and slicer circumvented the pirate security measures and infiltrated the base. During the assault, the spacers eliminated both the Bridge Troll and the pharple known as Nym's Girlfriend. Furthermore, they strategically placed surveillance devices throughout the base and successfully rescued a Lok Revenant operative who had been captured by the Sulfur Lake Pirates. One of the spacers also acquired an obsidian lance from within the hideout. Ultimately, after dispatching numerous pirates, the spacers secured the memory module from an Imperial droid recovered from the crashed vessel and transported it back to Nym's palace.
The 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game created by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts, featured the Sulfur Lake Pirate Hideout as a location before its closure on December 15, 2011. The addition of the Sulfur Lake Pirate Hideout to the game occurred as part of "Nym's Theme Park," which was launched with "Publish 3" on October 8, 2003. The questline was later overhauled with the release of the "Game Update 16: Stronghold of the Lok Revenants," on March 23, 2010.
