Takobo, a world located within the Outer Rim Territories, was a planet where various species, notably the Ithorians, had established communities after emigrating. This tranquil planet was characterized by its colorful architecture, displaying a blend of contemporary and traditional styles. In the era of the Galactic Civil War, two Imperial Inquisitors, known as the Seventh Sister and the Fifth Brother, apprehended Pypey, a young Ithorian with Force-sensitive abilities, from the Ithorian community of Hammertown. Ezra Bridger, along with his fellow rebel crew aboard the Ghost starship, successfully rescued the young Ithorian.
The planet Takobo made its debut in the Star Wars Rebels animated series episode entitled "The Future of the Force." StarWars.com suggested that the name Takobo originated from the presence of a taco bar as the available food choice during the writing conference held on the day the episode was being written. A significant portion of the Takobo scenery was constructed using repurposed sets that had been originally designed for the moon of Pantora during the production of Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
