During the age of the Galactic Empire, a male soldier named Tar resided on the Outer Rim planet of Crucival. They became a member of a group of soldiers under the leadership of the human Hazram Namir. In the year 1 BBY, the Galactic Empire enlisted this group to assist in the defense of Crucival's transmitter tower against Rebel Alliance forces. Tragically, almost the entire group, including Tar, met their death in the conflict when the Empire deserted them. Namir, who survived alone, held the Empire responsible for the deaths of Tar and the others in the group.

In the Imperial Era, Tar served as a soldier on the war-torn Outer Rim planet of Crucival, a world embroiled in conflict between various factions. After fighting for at least one commander who was ultimately lost, Tar turned to theft from passersby, concealing the mark of their former allegiance. Eventually, Hazram Namir, a former adversary, recruited Tar into a band of soldiers seeking an end to the planet's endless wars.
In 1 BBY, the Galactic Empire offered weapons to those willing to aid in the defense of Crucival's transmitter tower against an impending assault by the Rebel Alliance's 61st Mobile Infantry. Tar and Namir's group were among those who accepted. However, nearly all of them perished in the initial attack after the Empire abandoned them. By the battle's conclusion, Tar and the majority of the band were dead, with only Namir surviving. He blamed the Empire for their demise, leading him to join the 61st during a company recruitment drive a week later. He explained to the rebel Besalisk Gadren that the deaths of his comrades motivated his decision to enlist.
The Empire provided Tar with a rifle and a particle blaster for use in the Battle of the Tower.
Tar received a mention in the 2015 novel Battlefront: Twilight Company, penned by Alexander Freed.
