TD-54, frequently called Tee-Dee, was a 3PO-series protocol droid that was in service during the time of the Clone Wars. Crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure once owned the droid, but the Hutt ultimately sold both the droid and the command codes for the Geonosian droid factory (which he possessed) to the Shadow Collective. Darth Maul, desiring to command his own battle droid army, sent the 3PO unit to the world of Geonosis. While there, the Confederacy of Independent Systems discovered the operation, and General Grievous tried to force him to reveal who activated the foundry.
Following the defeat of the Separatist forces, TD-54 was rescued by the Jedi. Later, he was captured on Coruscant by the bounty hunter Cad Bane, who initiated a speeder chase. The chase ended in a crash that separated TD's head from the rest of his body. After his head was recovered, slicers working in the Tech Citadel endeavored to extract information from his memory core. Upon learning that he was previously owned by Jabba, the Jedi traveled to the planet Tatooine. After participating in a podrace with the Dug Sebulba, they discovered Maul was the one behind the recent events and proceeded to the world of Naboo in order to stop him.
TD-54's initial appearance was in the Twilight of the Republic play set within Disney Infinity 3.0, where James Arnold Taylor provided his voice.
