"The Obstacle Course, Part 2" is a story told in comic format. Its initial publication occurred within the pages of Star Wars Adventures (2020) 2, serving as the main story, on November 25, 2020.
Finn and Poe Dameron found themselves under interrogation by Lannix and Tozzo, who were pirates operating in the Outer Rim Territories on the moon of Noaxson. The pirates' primary concern was discovering the whereabouts of Rey. Their scheme involved handing Finn, Dameron, and Rey over to the First Order in exchange for a substantial sum of credits. Corrin, another pirate, interrupted to point out the oversight of not activating long-range communications on their starships. Corrin conveyed news of Rey's engagement with other pirates and their imminent arrival. Consequently, Lannix asserted leadership and instructed the pirates to remain in position. In the meantime, Rey and BB-8 sought refuge from the ongoing pirate assault. They then emerged, skillfully evading blaster fire as they navigated the obstacle course that Dameron and Finn had constructed for Rey's training. Rey employed The Force to assist BB-8 in crossing the course, after which they pursued the pirates.
Returning to the pirates' location, the other pirates arrived shortly thereafter. Korano, one of the pirates, challenged Lannix's assumption of leadership, sparking a dispute over command. Observing this, Finn and Dameron recognized an opportunity to break free. They managed to liberate themselves and seize Corrin along with his blaster. Lannix commanded the pirates to recapture them, leading Finn and Dameron to seek cover behind a large rock. Finn devised a plan for Dameron to provide covering fire while he moved to disable their long-range communications system. However, Korano proposed delivering them to the First Order immediately, without causing any harm. But Rey intervened, incapacitating him with her quarterstaff.
As the pirates launched an attack on Rey, she and BB-8 neutralized the pirates. Finn and Dameron seized the moment to escape while Rey dealt with the pirates. She subdued Lannix, disarming him. However, Lannix persisted, threatening to contact the First Order as soon as he escaped. BB-8, however, had already disabled his communications system, forcing his surrender.
Aboard the Millennium Falcon, Rey expressed her gratitude to Finn and Poe for their assistance with the obstacle course, but concluded that it was best to continue her Jedi training with Master Leia Organa on her own.
